Rainy Day Trip and Video Game Drama

Good Night Everyone.

I had a long day but it was an alright day. Was almost going to say a good day but I got cranky at the end of the day here. So it was a really crappy and rainy day here and I really needed to get out of the house. My fiancee had the day off of work so I decided I wanted to go to the mall. I wanted to pick up some more fabric to stitch onto the backside of any bookmarks I make and I really wanted to pick up some incense and some candles. Of course as soon as we left the house it started to rain. I just grabbed a hat and off we went to the bus stop. Luckily google is amazing and tells us exactly when the bus is going to arrive so we were there right in time and only had to wait for a minute before it came. By the time we got to the mall the rain had pretty much stopped. Of course that was the way it worked out. I didn't want to wait for the next bus because it's Sunday and they only come every hour on Sundays.

Well I really wanted some ramen but the damn place that makes it in the food court doesn't do ramen on Sundays like really? I love mall food court food. I don't know what it is about a food court in the mall but their food is always so good. So I got all of my shopping done and we were having a good time and my bestie came down to visit so she met us at the mall. It was great. She got some catnip pillows from me that she ordered and her cats love them. I had to hide them from my cats because they love the nips too.

After that me and the fiancee played some of The Division that we had the Beta test for and it's really fun. I can't wait to play it when it comes out in March. Today was the last day for the Beta I believe. I actually had a lot of fun in the PvP area. I normally avoid those areas because I'm not the best at shooter games but in this game it was so much fun. Of course playing with my fiancee normally ends up with us fighting because he gets whiny and I want to run around and get lots of loot. The last straw this time was when we were at an extraction zone where a bunch of people were there and you really can't trust anyone so I wanted to quickly get my loot to the helicopter before someone killed me because I had a blue gun I wanted to bad. Of course that was the time that some random person threw a grenade at us. I got the loot sent off and I tried to book it out of there but my fiancee just had to start shooting at the person and because we were in a group it made both of us go rogue so any player can see we were red. I still tried to run and then the good players started shooting at me. I almost died. Fiancee was grumpy because he thought I had his back but I was like dude I had a blue gun and I was booking it out of there so no one could steal it from me. I was grumpy because he turned both of us red and then the other players thought we were also the ones trying to kill them. Ugh. Then I found out that you can't kill the players you're in a group with, after we were safe and I tried to kill my fiancee. Damn him. Turns out he didn't get his extraction sent off so I was leading him to another place and he was being all whiny and just dumped his loot saying it was all junk anyway. Pfft. Loot it loot even if it's junk you can still sell it.

So that was my day. Not a lot of stitching got done. But I did pull out my huge piece of Aida Cloth for my Epic Pokemon Generation One Cross Stitch and started a border around the piece so I knew how big I needed it to be. Turns out my pattern is off with the dimensions. It says it's 256 Stitches wide and 450 High. But I counted out 260 Wide and the dimensions seem off. It also says it should be around 72cm long but 256 Stitches Wide is only 30 something cm long. I have 18 Count Aida Cloth like it says so I guess I'm just going to have to start to stitch a row and see how big it's actually going to be. I think the stitches posted are wrong. 250 Stitches Wide looks like it won't be big enough. Well I have enough cloth for it either way. I made sure to get a huge enough piece just in case. Plus I can use any leftover scraps for other projects.

It's time for bed now I can barely keep my eyes open. I hope you all have a good night and I will post how my Epic Pokemon Cross Stitch goes as I stitch it.

Well Hello

Hello There!!!

So I just finished my new Tetris bookmark! It's super cool and I love it. Of course if you wanted to buy one you can go to my Etsy store and purchase it at anytime! https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Taraforming

Here's a picture of the awesome!

I love it and it is stitched on 16 count Aida cloth. Of course I drew up a couple of different designs and if you wanted a design made with more of your favourite Tetris pieces or your favourite colours I can accommodate you. I stitched a piece of orange fabric onto the back of this one but if you wanted a different colour I can most definitely accommodate you on that too. I used a piece of braided string to attach to the top of it for use as a tassel because who doesn't love a nice tassel.

Now back to work for me. I have a cool new design I want to stitch up.
Thanks for reading!!!

Breaks and Busy

Well Hello There!

So sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Let's just say that I took a break on Thursday and only got a little bit of my Tetris bookmark done. Then I really needed to play some video games. My Fallout 4 was being so neglected and I was afraid it was going to run away on me. Well I got the bookmark done today finally and it is sitting aside right now waiting for the braided tassel to dry before I can stitch a piece of fabric onto the back of it. I'll finish it tomorrow or should I say later this morning.

I didn't really get a lot done earlier today either. My fiancee told me that The Division Beta test started this morning and I played it for a bit. It was actually really good. A little glitchy right now but it is the Beta Test after all and I just wish I had the game right now because so much stuff is locked.

Right now though inspiration hit and I just drew up 3 different patterns for new bookmarks. I love 2 of them but I'm not so sure about the third one. I'm going to have to wait until I line it and colour it before I figure out if I really do like it or not... actually I just came up with a great idea for the colours so let's hope it works out.

Well I am sorry but I think that is all for right now. I just started really yawning and I really wanted to get these last 2 drawings at lest lined before I crawl into bed. I'll post more tomorrow or in fact later today so you can all see how my Tetris bookmark turned out and then post it on my Etsy store. Well I actually drew up a couple of different Tetris designs so I could stitch up a few different ones. But I only stitched up one for now. It's super cool but more on that later.

Is there anything you would like to see me stitch? Any cute animals or favourite games? Cool designs? Let me know and I'll see what I can come up with. Now here is a random selection of some thing that I have stitched... how about... oh this cute fox ornament I stitched up. I love foxes and think they are so adorable. I think they are my favourite animal and if I could have one as a pet I most definitely would have one.

Thanks for reading!

Got Some Work Done!

Hey Guys!!!

So I got some work done yesterday. I finally finished the Four Cupcakes that I wanted to give them some new and much better colours. I updated them in my Etsy shop and they are looking super cute. So I can attach some string onto them and make them as Christmas Ornaments, or glue a magnet onto the backs to be used as a fridge magnet. I stitched them on 18 Count Aida cloth this time and they turned out a little small so next time I would use 16 Count instead. I just only had some spare 18 Count laying around and I really needed to buy some more fabric which I did this weekend when I went to Michael's. Here's the new and improved cupcakes:

Now the Crown one looks so regal, the Mistletoe one looks extra Christmassy, and the Heart one looks super cute and Valentinesy.

Now the next project I got done was the cute flowery bookmark I was working on. I wanted to stitch 2 sides of the flowers but after finishing the one side and sticking it in a book to see I thought 2 sides would be too thick. So I braided some string to use as a little tassel and glued it on and left it overnight to dry. This morning I picked out a piece of fabric and stitched it onto the backside of the bookmark. It's really cute.

I will be adding this to my Etsy store soon. Also last night I drew up a new design for a Tetris style bookmark. I started stitching it up this morning also and I will post it as soon as it is done. I think I need to buy some more different fabric to match all the different things I wanted to do. But first I really need to get back to work. Thanks for reading.

Excitedness!!!

Good Morning... Oh wait it's Afternoon now.
GOOD AFTERNOON!!!

So I am excited right now, my fiancee finally helped me to create my own Facebook page for my Taraforming shop on Etsy! Which really all I needed was for him to finally make me a cover photo for it. Took him a while and I am not really liking the background image he chose but my Facebook page is finally up and running. Taraforming on Facebook
So follow that link to go to the Facebook page. It's new just now so there's not a lot posted on there right now. But if you like my stuff then feel free to like the page.

ALSO... More stuff to be excited about!!! I finally got that huge chunk of Aida Cloth I was waiting for forever, so I can start stitching that Huge Pokemon Generation One Cross Stitch I have been wanting to do forever now!!! I AM SO EXCITED CAN YOU TELL? Of course you can I used caps lock and lots of exclamation marks.

But first I really need to finish the last of the cupcakes I was stitching. I just have the icing on the last one to do and I really wanted to finish the bookmark I started yesterday. It's going to be a full day of work but I need to get those done. I hate having unfinished pieces sitting there forever but I get so excited sometimes to start something new that sometimes they do end up sitting there for a while before I get back to them. Well not too long maybe a week before I really need to get back to them. I love seeing the finished product of something I have worked so hard to stitch. My most favourite stitch has to be the Princess Celestia one I did. I made this huge project for my fiancee for Christmas with all Six of the My Little Ponies from the show sleeping. They're so cute and then I Stitched 3 of the background ponies, Derpy, Vinyl Scratch, and Princess Celestia. It all took about 2 months so stitch together mostly because I had to make sure he didn't see what I was doing. So Princess Celestia took around 2 weeks. She is so beautiful and I love her the most out of everything I did. I am working on a Princess Luna one now that is taking a while. But Celestia is so gorgeous with her colorful hair.

So gorgeous I love her. Anyway I need to get back to stitching so I can start on the Pokemon Cross Stitch soon.

XOXO

Those Blah Days

Hey Guys,

Blah today is a blah day. Do you know those days where you feel blah and down in the dumps no matter what? Well I'm having one of those days right now.

So last night I was working forever on drawing up this cute pattern. I didn't know what I wanted to do with it but I just really needed to be creative. Well I drew up this really cute colorful abstract flowery thing. It's awesome and I started stitching it up today unsure of what I was going to do with it so I cut a piece of 18 count Aida cloth into 8 1/2 X 11 making sure to leave some extra room on the sides. I was going to stitch it into a picture size but them partway through stitching the first colour I noticed that it would make a really cute bookmark. I only got the first colour and a little bit of the second colour done before I needed a break. So here it what I have done so far:

It's going to be so cute when it's done. I am going to stitch 2 sides and then sew them together and maybe braid some string to attach to it like a tassel. I also glue up the edges so they don't fray. I think I'm going to make a series of bookmarks and put them up in my store.

Also I don't think I told you this but I ordered a HUGE piece of Aida cloth online because I wanted to stitch up the huge Pokemon First Generation cross stitch. Well it took almost a month but they finally just shipped it. Ugh it's taking them forever so I don't think I will ever shop from that store again. Nowhere does it say that it may take a month to ship it. I just ordered a chunk of cloth it didn't need to take a month to finally ship it and then it says it will be 3 weeks before I receive it. Wow. I really need to find a better place to order some cloth from. Too bad the stores around me only carry already cut cloth and none of it was in the size I needed. It was almost the size at one place but a couple of inches short. Oh well.

Well I need to get back to my stitching because it's going to take a while to get this thing done. It was nice taking a break to post here though. I hope you all have a great day and don't run into the blahs like I have.

XOXO

Saturday, 23 January 2016

Hi Hi,

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. I was super busy. My fiancees Birthday was yesterday and I spent all day with him making him feel super loved and special. That also meant that I actually took the day off from my stitch work. So that was Friday and what about my neglect on Thursday? Well I was keeping busy stitching up my new cupcakes. I haven't quite finished the last one yet but they're looking really good, good enough to eat. I also spent a lot of that day making a Birthday cake and supper for my fiancee. I was busy busy.

Today I was also super busy and I am hoping to get some stitching done today. This morning I actually took a trip to Michael's the crafting store and got myself some more DMC Embroidery Floss and some 16 Count Aida Cloth. I was running low on black and white and a few other colours and I really love picking out new pretty colours. Now I just have to wind them onto the bobbins I make myself out of thin cardboard. Why buy some bobbins when you can easily make some? Especially for me since I have at least a couple hundred different colours of embroidery floss.

Just out of curiosity who else is looking forward to the Deadpool movie? I know I am super excited. It comes out right before Valentines day too. I know what I'm going to be doing with my love on that day. I made this cute little Deadpool face as a Christmas Ornament for myself a couple of years ago. I love it and I love seeing it on the tree. As always you can purchase it here at my store: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Taraforming . I can also make it into a magnet for your fridge or just leave it so you can sew it onto a bag or wherever you'd want to put it.

Good Afternoon!

Well yesterday was not so much a productive day. I needed a break after stitching for the past 4 days. My wrists do tend to ache after a while and my eyes were really sore. Of course in this day and age most peoples lives revolve around staring at screens from TV screens to cell phone screens and we all need to remember to take a break and actually look at the beauty of nature outside. So I did, I took a little walk to the corner store and came back. Yes it was a short walk but it was cold outside so forgive me for not wanting to stay out longer than necessary.

My fiancee came back from his weekly local Yu-Gi-Oh tournament last night saying there are these two kids he sometimes teaches how to play the game and afterwards he was talking to their mother and she gave him this great little bit of information for me of this local gathering in June where I can purchase a table and sell some of my items there. I was looking into that this morning. I was going to get a table at the two local comic cons we have here and sell some of my items as well as share the table with my fiancee who does graphic design work and makes game mats to play on for Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, and Magic the Gathering. But the local comic cons aren't until August and October.

Now I need to buckle down and make more than just my geeky cross stitch. The market for a craft gathering is more than just the gamer crowd I need to make something that will appeal to everyone. A lot of small items too. So I had these little cupcake Christmas Ornaments that I made for myself but I lost the pattern to them a long time ago. Luckily I got myself some graph paper so I can make my own patterns and I drew up a new copy of the pattern for the four cupcakes. I also picked some much better colours than what I had originally used. Originally I had some cheap embroidery floss from Wal-Mart and in the package I got some really shiny thread and I really wanted to use it so I did on the cupcakes. Now the thread is awful to work with because it is so slippery, it was really only good for when the thread knotted and I could undo the knot really easily. It was also really great to make a really long length of braided string to play with my cats with. I found they didn't chew through it as easily as normal embroidery thread and their claws didn't get stuck in it so much.

I am about to make a bunch of cupcakes now so I can attach some braided string to some for ornaments and attach some magnets onto others for fridge magnets. Wish me luck and hope that my fingers don't get too cramped up today. I don't know how many I will get done today as cross stitching is very time consuming. So I hope you all have a great day. Before I go here is a picture of the original cupcakes I made. I have them on my Christmas Tree every year and I think they are so cute.

I also have them for sale on my Etsy store here: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Taraforming. There you can pick some different colours for yourself if you wanted some specific colours for them. I will be updating the picture on the store soon with my new colours I have chosen as soon as I get some finished.

Thank You for reading and I hope everyone has a Fantastic day!!!

First Post For My New Cross Stitch Blog!

Good Morning! Good Morning!

Welcome to my new blog and thank you all for reading! Here I wanted to create a blog so I can talk and show you some of the things that I have Cross Stitched. I love to stitch up some geeky items. Now to start with some background.

So long ago when I was a wee little girl... maybe not that wee, I was never very wee. I don't even remember how old I was maybe 10 or 11. Anyway, my mother taught my sister and I how to cross stitch. I remember she used to bring us to Wal-mart (back when they had an awesome fabric and crafting section, sadly today they're stupid and got rid of all of the good stuff). So she brought us there and let us pick out any pattern for cross stitching that we wanted and then showed us how to start stitching. It was so nice and kept me occupied for hours, my sister not so much. Later in life I asked my mother why she taught us to stitch and she just replied with "Well I taught you so it would keep you quiet for a couple of hours."

Eventually I stopped stitching when I was a teenager. I really don't know why, I think I just lost interest in the pre made patterns. Now that I am older I wanted to create again and I remembered that I knew how to stitch. So I looked up online for some awesome stitch patterns, I bought all of the supplies I needed again and I haven't stopped. I love working with embroidery floss, just looking at all of the colours are so pretty. My favourite sized cloths to use are 16 count and 18 count Aida Cloth. I just use white but the antique stuff is really nice for an older look.

So that is my story. Now I have made my own Etsy store and I hope that I can sell enough things to work at this full time. This is my dream, it is hard work and very time consuming but I love it and I hope others will love it too. Here is the link to my Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Taraforming

I have asked my Fiancee to make me a logo and a banner since he is a graphic designer and does awesome work. He's busy with work right now so hopefully by this weekend when he has some time off he can make something for me.

Well thank you for reading my first post. I will try to post something every day depending on how busy I am with working on my stitching. Now I will leave you with a picture of the first thing I stitched when I got back into stitching. I made this for my fiancee and it is currently sitting on top of a shelf in our home.
